Missouri native and former Navy serviceman Coach Dennis Hacker has been appointed to the BVL Board of Directors by USBC past President Karl Kielich, who is stepping down from the BVL Board due to his increased responsibilities as the newly-elected President. “We are delighted to welcome Dennis to the BVL Board,” notes BVL Executive Director Mary Harrar. “Dennis will bring a unique understanding to our mission based on his 12 years serving in the Navy. We know is heart is in the BVL cause.” Dennis has a broad background in the sport, winning the Bowlers Journal singles title in 1986, the New York State Amateur in 2000, and was first alternate for Team USA in 1988. Additionally, Dennis is currently second vice president of the Missouri State USBC and has been a director on the board since 2007. He also is a director on the Cape Girardeau USBC board. He is a member of the Missouri State and Cape Girardeau USBC halls of fame. A USBC Silver-certified coach; he has coached the Jackson (Mo.) High School bowling team since 2016. Dennis attended Southeast Missouri State University. During his time in the Navy — 1981-1993 — he worked as a nuclear electrician on submarines. Currently, he is the director of research for Pinnacle Research Group, an independent full-service market research firm. “I’m looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work for BVL. It’s a great tradition within our sport and one that deserves a laser focus for all of us involved in bowling,” explains Dennis.
