I AM BVL. It's more than just three words. It's a powerful message, a dedicated mission for those who support our veterans through BVL. Everyone has a different story to tell about why veterans and BVL matters to them. David “Kilroy” Kellerman went the extra mile (2,192 miles to be exact) to raise more than $100,000 for BVL with his Appalachian Trail hike last year. The co-owner of Mel’s Lone Star Lanes in Georgetown, Texas, was moved to do more for veterans after serving as a guardian on an Honor Flight.
Dennis Brummitt is a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War for two tours. He's also been a dedicated bowling association volunteer since 1992. Dennis is the man you can’t say “no” to when it comes time to donate to BVL to support his fellow veterans. Read more of Brummitt's story HERE.
BVL Executive Director Mary Harrar, who comes from a family of veterans, says she has the "best job in the world, raising funds for those who have sacrificed so much."
BVL Marketing Consultant Fred Kaplowitz “jumped at the chance” to work with BVL. Motivated by the stories of courage and valor, Fred works closely with bowling centers to create promotions to raise awareness and dollars for BVL.
Former BVL Board Chair Darlene Baker steered the organization through an era of growth, raising millions to support recreation therapy programs for veterans. Currently she is a BVL Ambassador where she remains a passionate advocate for veterans.
BVL USBC Consultant Libbi Fletcher is an undeniable force. The Michigan resident and former BVL Board Member is an enthusiastic voice for veterans - spreading the world about BVL at USBC Association meetings throughout the country.
BVL supports Re-Creation, an entertainment troupe dedicated to giving back to those who have served. In her third year on Tour, Carol Simmons says performing for veterans is “exciting, life changing and humbling”.
